Kiri komi (Downward cut with dagger)
Uke sits in front of Tori. Uke takes the knife (with the imaginary scabbard) with his right hand. He moves it to his left side and puts it in his belt. The knife now symbolizes a short sword. The short sword is called wakizashi in Japanese. Uke grabs the imaginary scabbard with his left hand (fig. 1). He rises on his right foot. He pulls out the knife. He tries to split Tori's head in two from above. Tori catches Uke's wrist with both his hands (fig. 2). Tori does not stop Uke's movement. He leads it away. The principle is much the same as in Seoi nage (in Nage no kata). Tori pulls Uke forward and towards Uke's left front. Tori executes a Ude hishigi waki gatame on Uke's right arm (fig. 3). Uke taps with his left hand on Tori's left leg. Tori return to his positions as before this technique. Uke sits in front of Tori, but now at a longer distance. He puts the knife back into the imaginary scabbard in his belt on his left side. Uke then moves the knife with the imaginary scabbard back inside his jacket.
