Suri-age (Forehead thrust)
Uke rises to his toes. He shouts and attempts to strike Tori's forehead with the palm of his right hand (fig. 1). The purpose of this attack is to break Tori's neck. Tori deflects the blow with both his hands in the following way (fig. 2):
Tori shouts and kicks Uke in his stomach (fig. 3). Tori turns 180 degrees to his right and throws Uke down on his stomach. (fig. 4) Uke lands on his stomach. He faces to his left. He bends his left arm and left leg, so that his left elbow and left knee almost meet. The purpose for Uke's position is to show that Uke is not a dead body. He is defending himself. Tori presses Uke's right arm against the ground. Uke's palm is upwards at first.Tori then turns Uke's arm so that Uke's palm is downwards, to the mat. Tori moves forwards on his knees (first left, then right). At the same time, he moves Uke's arm in front of him. This means that Uke's arm is moved towards the direction of Uke's head. Tori moves his left knee on top of Uke's elbow and he pulls Uke's wrist upwards (fig. 5). This is a very strong armlock, so be careful! Uke taps on the mat with his left hand.
