Tsukkomi (Dagger thrust at stomach)

Uke kneels down in front of his weapons. He has his back against Tori. He crosses his hands and picks up the knife with both hands. Uke holds the knife in his right hand. The edge of the knife is upwards. Uke puts the knife inside the left side of his jacket. The edge of the knife is upwards. Uke stands up, turns around and walks towards Tori. Uke sits down in front of Tori. In all the knife techniques, Uke must imagine that he carries his knife in a small scabbard.

Uke grabs with his left hand on the outside of his jacket around the imaginary scabbard (fig. 1). He pulls out the knife with his right hand. He stands on his left foot, shouts and tries to thrust the knife into Tori's stomach. The edge of the knife is upwards. The reason is first to penetrate the opponent's stomach and then to continue by cutting upwards.

Tori makes a kneeling Tai-sabaki on his left knee to avoid Uke's thrust (fig. 2). He shouts and strikes Uke between his eyes, at his uto. Tori executes a Ude hishigi hara gatame, like in Tsukkake (fig.3). Uke taps with his left hand on the mat.

Tori and Uke return to their positions as before this technique. Uke puts the knife back into the imaginary scabbard inside his jacket.
